Praa Sands Holiday Park is a quiet and well maintained site located a five minute walk from the easily accessible long sandy beach of Praa Sands, which is family friendly and has lifeguard cover in the summer months. The beach is suitable for surfing and swimming, has rock pools at one end, and is well served by both a pub and a restaurant. In addition there are toilet facilities and a public telephone. There are numerous other beaches in the area, both sandy and rocky, some of which offer a variety of water sports and other activities. Boat trips are available from several local ports, either to see the coastal scenery from a different viewpoint, to see the marine wildlife or to go fishing. The South West Coast Path passes close to the site and is the best way to enjoy the wonderful coastal scenery, wildlife and heritage. The Path is just as good for short walks or a gentle stroll as it is for long-distance walking.

Praa Sands is conveniently situated for both the Penwith and Lizard peninsulas, the former with its rich mining heritage and the latter with its unique landscape and flora. It is an excellent base for family days out at popular venues, and is also centrally placed for exploring the many attractions in West Cornwall, including historical sites of various dates, and gardens both large and small exhibiting the wealth of sub-tropical plants which survive in the famously mild climate. The unspoilt nature of the region means that West Cornwall has a wealth of flora and fauna, some found in no other areas of the country. Many of the local towns and villages retain their uniquely Cornish character, and there are many small galleries and shops exhibiting and selling locally produced arts and crafts. Cornwall is also renowned for its locally produced, award-winning food and drink which is available at many of the restaurants and cafés in the area. Alternatively, you may prefer to browse the specialist shops which offer an even greater range of delicacies. |
